Wessex Metrology adds gear and spline capability to expanding engineering measurement portfolio

Wessex Metrology has expanded its world-class dimensional metrology portfolio with the addition of high precision master gear sets and spline gauges. These highly specialised gauging products, from leading global manufacturer Frenco TPT, combine with Wessex Metrology’s existing portfolio and comprehensive engineering experience to extend the scope of effective measurement solutions the company develops for its clients.

Frenco TPT is a leader in the manufacture and measurement of master spur and helical gears, straight-sided, involute and indicating spline gauges, and serration gauges, all backed by a fully-equipped, ISO 17025-compliant, UKAS accredited metrology laboratory.

Frenco designs and manufactures spur and helical master gears in the range 0.3 to 6.0 module, with helix angle up to 45° for use in roll-testing instruments running against production gears to ensure all gear parameters are within specification. Serration gauges, involute and straight-sided spline gauges are supplied on reliable lead times in finest quality tool steel. Spline gauges provide a full functional test of all features of a splined component; indicating spline gauges, concentricity gauges and workholding mandrels are also available.
